Light For My Path
Good will come to those who are generous and lend freely, who conduct their affairs with justice.

Thinking biblically in an unbiblical world.
This past week we began a series at True Hope on some debated topics within the Church. What does Scripture teach about the death penalty, sexuality, tattoos, drinking, dating, abortion, etc.?
All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work. (2 Timothy 3:16-17 NASB)
The law has not become null or void for the believer. The power is no longer over us, but the principles are.
The 10 Commandments [Exodus 20] summed up in 2 [Matthew 22]:
1. "I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery. You shall have no other gods before Me.”
2. "You shall not make for yourself an idol, or any likeness of what is in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the water under the earth. You shall not worship them or serve them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God…”
3. "You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain, for the LORD will not leave him unpunished who takes His name in vain.”
4. "Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.”
(in other words) Love the Lord your God…
5. "Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be prolonged in the land which the LORD your God gives you.”
6. "You shall not kill.”
7. "You shall not commit adultery.”
8. "You shall not steal.”
9. "You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.”
10. "You shall not covet your neighbor's house; you shall not covet your neighbor's wife or his male servant or his female servant or his ox or his donkey or anything that belongs to your neighbor."
(in other words) Love your neighbor...
We looked briefly at the 10 commandments above and saw that Jesus claimed in Matthew 22 that the whole Law and prophets were summarized in two commandments. We then began discussing the 6th commandment.
Next week we will look at the 6th commandment... “You shall not kill.”
