Recycle Bin
The Massillon Public Library has places a distinctive green and yellow “PaperRetriever” dumpster-sized recycling bin in its parking lot on the Southwest corner of the intersection of Second Street and Lincoln Way East, next to the State Farm Insurance office. The public is invited to put paper, newspapers, magazines, mail, junk mail and catalogs in the bin. Then, the library is paid for these materials that would otherwise have been thrown out. This opportunity to recycle will not only save paper from landfills, but, in our case, it will raise funds for the library as well.

Recycling Center Relocated
Boy Scout Troop 72 of Strasburg wishes to inform our supportive residents of our split from the community recycling program effective January 4, 2009; and to notify you of our paper and cardboard collection site located at the vacant Certified gas station lot on Wooster Ave. just south of 10th Street NW. The station will be manned on the first Saturday of every month from 9 am to 11 am to assist residents in the transfer of recyclables from vehicles to trailer; and as always, the trailer will remain open for around-the-clock drop offs of paper and cardboard ONLY.

Throughout all the years that Strasburg has been collecting the paper and cardboard, all proceeds have been returned to the Troop, with all the expenses of the trailer and transportation at the cost of our generous supporter – Recycled Fiberized Products, Inc. of New Philadelphia.

We have earned a small monthly allowance from the Stark-Tuscarawas-Wayne Joint Solid Waste Management District for our service to their comingled recycling container, which has been greatly appreciated over these years.

However, all paper and cardboard collected at the District’s new recycling site at the Village Garage will be to the benefit of the District – the Troop will lose the funds generated by it. The paper and cardboard collection have been the sole fundraiser need by the Boy Scout Troop 72 for our program operations for many years. Therefore, we will continue our Troop collection, and greatly appreciate your continued support through paper and cardboard recycling at our site on Wooster Avenue.
